Let’s take a look into each item below!!
BALATH (Long & Short Sleeve)

The Balath base layer is the corner stone of the layering system.
There are many base layers on the market, but we wanted to make something specifically for military use and the Balath was the result. One of the most important features of a good base layer, is that when you’re working you need to be able to vent the heat and have the material wicking the moisture away from your body. However, when you’re static you want to be able to trap that warm air inside, keeping you comfortable and warm.
With this in mind, we had a company manufacture a special material for us, this is called a blended knit with 4 way stretch. It has Honeycomb on the outside and a Birds Eye weave on the inner. The Honeycomb draws out the moisture whilst the Birds Eye prevents heat escaping when static and traps heated air inside.
This is extremely breathable, moisture wicking, has antimicrobial properties, offers superb UV protection and is very fast drying.
The seams are flat lock, ensuring comfort and preventing digging in or rubbing.
The long sleeve has thumb holes both for comfort, and to keep the sleeves in place whilst putting on a Bergan or pack.
The neck has a half zip with a garage, to prevent the zip rubbing on your neck. This zip also offers great venting when working hard and makes for a comfortable fit under body armour. The only difference between the short sleeve and the long sleeve.. other than the sleeve length, is that the long sleeve is also fitted with thumb holes.

TEPOR

The Tepor jacket from JayJays is similar to the Balath base layers.
This Tepor was designed as a modern day replacement of the old Norwegian style shirt.
The jacket is made of a special knit blend material with waffles on the inside and a smooth outer finish. The material is 4 way stretch and is porous, ensuring that excess heat can escape whilst you are working. But when you are static, the inner waffles (that are like small cubes) hold the hot air ensuring that you stay warm and comfortable. The material is moisture wicking, fast drying and has antimicrobial properties, preventing odours and bacteria after training.
The Tepor is form fitting and has a ‘hugging’ fit, meaning it can either be worn next to the skin, or as a standalone jacket above a base layer.
The material is smooth and soft and the neck has been design to be just high enough to trap in warm air, with a zip garage for added comfort and to protect the zip from rubbing. It comes with a full length zip, and has a soft cover to prevent the zip rubbing when worn against skin.
The jacket has 2 large front pockets with waffle lining to keep hands warm and 2 large inside pockets.
The sleeves have thumb holes, both for comfort and to ensure that the sleeves stay in place when you shoulder your Bergan or pack.
The rear of jacket has a scoop at the bottom for improved fit and comfort.

ZEPHYR

The Zephyr from JayJays® in Multicam® is a modern day take on the old ‘Zoot suit’ top.
The Zephyr is an extremely windproof and water resistant, half zipped and hooded top, made from ultra lightweight fabric (227g in total). The top hardly takes up any room at all in your kit and when placed in its stuff sack, will easily fit in the palm of your hand. It is perfect for when you need that little bit of extra warmth, either as an outer shell or under your smock to provide a warm pocket of air and keep the chill out.
It is made of 70 denier ripstop nylon that is so tightly woven it becomes extremely windproof. The material is finished with DWR (Durable Water Repellence) – meaning that water will just bead and run off, making it water resistant.
As it is so lightweight, this windbreaker is also ideal for use as a training top, whether you are tabbing, running or doing basic phys. They are also great for keeping as your dry kit, taking up much less room than other clothing.
It comes with a large chest pocket that is zipped on each side and has an internal compass pouch on both sides, enabling you to use the compass with either hand.
The hood of the Zephyr is equipped with a stiffened and fitted peak, meaning that it can’t flap around. The bottom hem is elasticated and has a scooped rear for improved fit and comfort. The under arms also have mesh venting for air flow.
